Whether you are wiping runny noses, changing dirty diapers, putting away those pesky toys (we all know stepping on Legos hurts), handling temper tantrums, driving the young ones to school, to baseball practice, to his buddies house, sheesh… being a mom is exhausting!

And we sure as heck know it’s expensive.

Please, let us alleviate some of those stresses by showing you how to make some extra money from home.

1.  Sell Stuff Around Your House on eBay

With this easy step, you could actually kill two birds with one stone, make some serious extra cash, and declutter your home in a very noticeable way.

You are going to be surprised when you see all the junk in your house you never use anymore making you extra money from home.

The best thing about this is, you don’t have to talk with anyone face to face, the only places you are going, is to the post office, and to the bank.

Go around your house and start making a collection of items to sell that you do not use anymore.

Here is a small list of some of the best items to sell:

  • Clothes – Clothes are one of the easiest things to sell on eBay, make sure they are a good brand, and are clean.
  • Toys – We all know kids, they get a new toy, a week passes and they are already bored of it, sell it on eBay, they won’t miss it.
  • Games – Any games sitting around collecting dust? How about old Gaming Consoles? They sell like hot cakes on eBay.
  • Movies – Movies are a great way to make extra money, you already watched it, so sell it! One movie can sell from $5 – $10 on eBay.

If you have never sold anything on eBay before, no worries, eBay is easy to work with and pretty straight forward. We will be making a blog post soon going more in depth on best practices when it comes to selling on eBay. For now, you should definitely check out this beginner selling guide created by eBay themselves.

2. A Good Ol’ Fashion Garage Sale

That’s right, a good ol’ fashion garage sale can make you some serious extra spending cash.

Garage sales are awesome, I mean think about it… it’s like having your own personal thrift shop right outside your home.

Simply find items around your house that you are willing to sell, sharpen up those negotiation skills, and get ready for a day of selling.

Here are some tips in order to ensure a successful garage sale:

  • Have your garage sale on a Saturday (that is underground national garage sale day).
  • Do not overvalue items, it is a garage sale, people are looking for good deals.
  • Categorize your items into specific sections, do not spread everything all over the place.
  • Have spare change on deck.
  • Purchase price tag stickers for your items so that people have an initial price in mind.
  • Seriously, sharpen up on those negotiation skills.
  • Advertise a day before on Craigslist.
  • Put Garage Sale signs up on all main intersections near your garage sale, create a funnel of signs to your little shop.

Follow these tips and prepare yourself for a day of selling.

3. Do Not Throw Away Your Grocery Receipts

When you throw away your grocery receipts, you are actually throwing away dollar bills.

Many free apps out there pay you just to take pictures of your receipts, and you receive money back on your purchases.

The Ibotta app does just that, you simply download the app, find rebates on your favorite products, go shopping, then scan the item’s barcode and submit a photo of your receipt.

There is also an app called Receipt Hog that does not discriminate on any receipt. Same concept as Ibotta except, Receipt Hog accepts receipts from any store, no matter what you buy.

Ibotta is more focused on specific products and stores, but they have some pretty good deals, while Receipt Hog accepts any product from any store.

The downside is sometimes Receipt Hog does not give you coins for certain stores (usually small business receipts) but they enter you in a raffle to have the chance to win coins.

Both apps have their pros and cons, but they are definitely worth a try.

4. Get the DailyWin App!

Not to toot our own horn, but DailyWin is a great app to start earning some extra money from home, and at the same time you have the chance to win big cash prizes.

DailyWin is a free app for iPhone and Android, that lets you play fun free scratch card games for a chance to win real money, every single day!

Also, there are extra ways to earn cash on the app as well, by completing simple daily tasks such as watching videos, taking surveys, and much more coming soon!

5. Drive for Uber or Lyft on Your Spare Time

If you’re a stay-at-home mom and want to make some extra money on your own time, driving for Uber or Lyft could be the perfect gig for you, as Lyft says “turn miles into money”.

Some people make a full time living driving for Uber or Lyft, but of course, they put in the full-time hours.

That’s the cool part, you decide how many hours you want to dedicate to driving. Maybe your goal is to make an extra $100 on the weekends?

Moms are already spending hours a week driving kids to school, practice and appointments, why not make some money out of it?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, we hope you were able to find some value in this post. Want to get posts like this to your email inbox? Subscribe to our blog.
